My First Day As An Affiliate Marketer

Today is NOT my first day as an affiliate marketer…… it is simply day 1 of this blog. However I would like to take a few moments to talk about the first day I “tried” affiliate marketing.

I think it is important to take you back to that day because I learned a very valuable lesson. One that I feel I should share with anyone reading this blog.

I had been working online for a while before I started to explore affiliate marketing. Mostly I had been working on GPT sites, but I had also tried a few MLM opportunities too.

GPT sites, for those who don’t know already, are Get Paid To do various things such as surveys, ad clicks, play games etc etc. Those were the first sites that actually paid me….. MLM opportunities are Multi Level Marketing programs. Those tend to focus on selling products AND building a team. You get paid on your own sales and your team sales too = multiple levels of earning.

Affiliate marketing is a bit different (but there can be some overlap). I remember not really understanding the difference myself initially to be honest, so don’t worry if thats you right now!

Before my first day as an affiliate marketer I had been reading and researching various ways to make money online. Affiliate marketing kept coming up. It sounded interesting AND a great way to earn extra income.

As I had already been working online, doing surveys and MLM stuff, I had built up a nice following on a blog and on Facebook.

All that I had to do to start making affiliate sales then, was to start sharing links to products.

So I thought.

I started sharing the links to all kinds of things on my FB profile and sat back expecting the sales to start rolling in.

Guess what happened?

I not only did NOT make any sales, I got a load of people who had been following me before, basically ran away.

I was confused and a bit frustrated.

What happened???

It was supposed to be so easy, especially as I had been getting people joining the other sites I had promoted.

Now I understand why this was my initial experience with affiliate marketing, but back then it made no sense at all to me.

Luckily I am the kind of person who doesn’t give up easily, so I began my real journey into marketing just after this experience. I did a lot of reading, watched a load of videos, paid for courses and did a fair amount of learning via trial and error.

The lesson I learned was affiliate marketing sounds really easy, but it requires the ability to keep going when you discover that is not the case. That is the hardest thing to do sometimes.

If you are just starting out, or indeed if you have been trying affiliate marketing and not making sales, then know this:

There are ways to make affiliate sales as a complete beginner, but they are very specific.

It takes a bit of time and effort to learn to become successful as an affiliate.

It is very much worth learning.

YOU can do it.

I learned how, and I am here to share my knowledge with you.

Lets take it step by step so you can build your skills!

Are you ready to begin?
